Quilting Fun

I mentioned in my last post that I’d been busy quilting.  Well below is the first one completed.  I’m raffling this off to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.  I’m even selling tickets online, so if you know anyone who’d love this quilt, send them over to my fundraising page to buy a ticket, at only £1 each :)

Green Dino Quilt

Isn’t it cute!  I must admit that after finishing this off that last thing I want to do is give it away.  So I’m trying to sell between 200 and 500 tickets so that it doesn’t hurt as much.  Vicky will recognise some of this fabric, she bought some of it for me a few years ago to make into a cot blanket for my nephew.  Since that didn’t happen I decided to go scrounging for more fabric to make it into a larger quilt to raffle off.  Unfortunately this fabric is discontinued so I was ordering it in from several corners of the globe.  I’m really proud of my first effort at completely making a quilt from scratch.

Wow! What a spectacular quilt! I absolutely love the fabric you used and you have done such a beautiful job with it. I hope you raise lots of money for for such a worthy cause.

Very cool! I can easily see your not wanting to part with it — it’s awesome!!

What fun colours and I would never have guessed it was your first one! Perhaps you should bid on it yourself and perhaps win it back? It is spectactular…. swoon.

Thanks guys. I’m finishing off another one in a different colour-way. It’s the same dinos but in yellow-orange-reds. It was a little easier to scrounge up fabric for this colour way than the green but only just. I do love these dinos, it’s a shame they have discontinued the fabbie, but I guess they can’t keep all fabric designs around forever :)

Sonya, I love your idea of buying tickets for myself, unfortunately I can’t do that and have it stay impartial :) Ah well, I’m sure it’ll go to a good home ;)

Hmm seems I remembered to email you ut not comment on your blog. Woops
When I am in cardiff (lol) or you are next here I can see me asking some pointers for a descent into yet another fabric based hobby. The Dinos are fantastic but then that would be why we bought them the moment we saw them :D .
Hope they go along way to helping you raise money *fingers crossed it all comes together*
