the flowers are excellent, dip them in an egg batter and then flour and then fry them till golden. I had them in Italy and they are a delight.
the black stone is just wonderful... you picked the colours well!

I've heard you can eat the flowers, just not sure it's something I'd like to try. You're right on the male/female too - you have both male and female flowers on a plant and only the female give you fruit.

Aguido, that quiche won't be too quiche-y without eggs ;) And yep, I'll take some more pics this weekend.

All you need is some bacon, cheese, wholemeal flour and a bit of milk, and you'll have the makings of a fine quiche. :)

More pictures of your garden plz?

Love blackstone, the colour choices have worked really well, especially loving the dragon opal... it is such a scrummy colour :)

I'm very jealous of your garden too. I didn't get anything started this year.. still want to get a couple of potted citrus tress given how many limes / lemons I can go through at times.
Are you planning on harvesting some corgette flowers to try filled on their own. They can be so impossibly hard to find in stores/markets but having the plants in your backyear should make that easier. I think the males only ever form flowers and it is only the femal plants that form the fruits.
anyway....
