Photo Hunt – Wk 11
This weeks is late again. The theme was technology. There were stacks of things I could have chosen, but decided to go for the simple approach. For those not in the know, this is the lid of my apple laptop ![]()

Photo Hunt – Week 10
This week’s theme was books. As soon as I saw that I thought I’d go to the work library and take a photo up from the floor – without lying on the floor of course. It didn’t quite turn out as I had hoped, but in all not too bad I don’t think.

“unbroken” was born
What a week! You know those weeks that you want to do again and be able to tell yourself not to do something? Well that has been this week.
On Monday, despite my very sexy migraine, I got something working that I had been trying to get going for about a week. Then on Wed I got the next step working. Only, Wed afternoon I discovered that this had stopped the first step working. At this point, after much attempts to back track and some screaming I went home
Then this morning I found it was impossible to backtrack and I had useless code. Now why didn’t I save it before I broke it! Thankfully I got an idea this afternoon and I have both steps all working and the next step done too. Now I have a directory called unbroken. I have copied all working versions there so I have it if I break it again
So hence, unbroken was born. Thank god tomorrow is Friday!

Photo Hunt – Week 9
This week’s theme is a good one – fire. I’m quite happy with how this photo came out. And it was one where taking a photo after work actually worked.

Taunting Vicky
And because of the photo that Vicky posted for windows, and the comment she put with it, here is Notre Dame (or at least part of it) in spring

Photo Hunt catch-up
Since I got this blog there were 3 photo hunt weeks that I failed to put something up… mainly because I have only just recently bought a digital camera and all my photos I have that are any good are on film. Vicky very nicely scanned them in for me so here comes the catch-up for those 3 weeks.
First came Autumn. This photo was taken in a little lakeside town in Austria (have forgotten the name for now). They have autumn festivals and this was their spokesman.
Next comes critters. On a street in Paris stood this lovely trio playing such typical music. I just could resist taking the photo.
And last of all comes the windows. This photo is of a little tea house at an old palace in Germany – Sanssouci. It has been restored extensively, although at the time I visited (Winter 95-96) the tea house was among only a couple of buildings that had been finished. Oh, and in case you are wondering, the boxes around the tea house are covering statues. Because of the cold, they cover the statues in winter to protect them. I think it is supposed to stop them from cracking or such. Not sure.

Photo Hunt
Well I am finally posting a pic for the photo hunt. Not sure what week this is, but Vicky told me the theme was keys. My pic isn’t as artistic as hers, but here you see all my house keys and lab keys thrown on the floor. What can I say… unless you are Vicky and have been able to collect old keys, it’s a hard theme

I have a rock!
Well I got a lot more done on the CC on 3 SAL than I should have. I was supposed to get a lot of writing done this past weekend but instead I caved in to Hermit. Well, and sleep
I have the first rock done from Hermit. It is a lot more green than I thought it would be, but I still like it. Now this one gets put away until next month.

Sue’s RR
Here it is finally, my section on Sue’s RR. I haven’t been doing much stitching and most of the time I had was spent on this RR section. Since I have finished I have been able to pick up Stella again, so next time I post there will be piccies of Stella and Hermit.

I’m stitching again
After 11 months of only stitching on the RR, I finally started stitching again just before xmas. Of course since then I have done some on one I already had going and started 3 more
So time to share some pics.
The first is Stella. I have missed stitching on her and loved picking her back up again. I was pleased with the amount I managed to do over the xmas break. Before I stopped work on her, the top row of pages had been done and about 500 stitches had been done on the next row.
Now for the new starts. I was given Hermit and the threads from Vicky for xmas. So of course on xmas day I started him. And the the very naughty Sue gave me Pumpkin Pixie and all threads and fabbie, so I started her over the New Year weekend for the new start SAL. Managed to get a little more done on the second weekend SAL, but only a few hours. So here is the progress to date.
And lastly, I started Cirques on Country Stitch Wisteria and using Waterlilies Elderberry Wine. The pics aren’t the best as I took them last night. Should have waited until today, but I was hoping to get this posted last night. Of course, that was before my internet connection went haywire. So there are my pics. I’m looking forward to stitching on them again, so I had better hurry up and finish my section on Sue’s RR
